Whether you call them pill bugs, roly-polies, woodlice, butchy boys, sow bugs, or any of their many other common names, these adorable isopods are known around the world for a signature defense mechanism: curling up into a ball! These particular pill bug pin designs are inspired by the family Armadillidiidae, one of several types that can roll all the way up into a sphere. While it’s a recognizable behavior, not every species can do so! Believe it or not, they’re technically crustaceans, not insects!

The set of three pins features dark gray enamel with your choice of either gold or silver plating, a single post each, and rubber clutches. The rolled up and partway rolled pins are approximately 17 mm wide, while the at rest pin will be about 24 mm wide. Each set comes on a backing card together!
