Inspired by enduring celestial symbols and the fleeting beauty of insects, the "Celestial Insects" series is designed to celebrate and honor the great and the small together in a collectible art form. The Cicada (The Timekeeper) draws the eye by itself and holds its own as a centerpiece in a collection alongside other pins in the series.

The Cicada (The Timekeeper) spreads starry wings overlaid with a ring of 17 suns symbolizing the years a periodical cicada spends underground as a nymph before emerging as an adult. The red suns feature sparkly red glitter for an extra magical touch. Periodical cicadas are found in eastern North America and are distinctly recognizable for their dark bodies and red eyes.

Hard enamel pin with gold plating, double posts, and yellow clutches. Approximately 41 mm tall.
