Insecta Geometrica Birdwing Butterfly Pin *CLEARANCE*
"Insecta Geometrica" is back with a second series of beautiful hard enamel pins! The bright colors and high contrast of this butterfly make it a great piece on its own, though it goes wonderfully with other pins in the series too!
Birdwing butterflies are among the largest butterflies in the world. Many are endangered, so it's better to enjoy their beauty in representations like this pin inspired by the male Queen Alexandra's Birdwing (Ornithoptera alexandrae). The adults of this species feed at large flowers such as hibiscus and have few natural predators in the eastern forests of Papua New Guinea.
Hard enamel pin with gold plating, single post, and black clutch. Approximately 30 mm tall. Ships on a backing card.
This pin design was made possible through the Insecta Geometrica 2 Kickstarter! Many thanks to the generous backers who made the campaign a success!
